We found a mulberry tree on our property, with all kinds of ripe berries just waiting for us to pick them and eat them up right there on the spot.
We didn't of course, we waited until the tree was positively identified, and wasn't some poisonous imposter. And THEN we picked them and ate them. Here are the ones we didn't eat. And there's a lot more where that came from!

Mulberries? They look like blackberries. I thought mulberry tree is what silk lavea feeds on. The leaves of the tree, that is. hummmm....but those berries look like blackberries.
ha! reminds me of the time I went to the minnehaha creek with caitlin, and we picked the loganberries off the public trees and ate them. Can't believe we didn't die. ( i think this is the first time this has come out. don't worry, mom and dad, I don't eat strange berries anymore. But apparently Joy does.)
