I distinctly remember one of my professors once remarking (or was it more of a warning) that marriage was not all about gazing into one another's eyes, like dating and engagement is. His point was that it isn't our spouse who makes us happy, only God can fulfill everything we desire.
Ain't that the truth?
With these two little ones, and all the tasks that come along with raising them, there simply isn't the time for Dan and I to do all the things together that we once did. But, we are finding deep joy, the sort we never knew existed before marriage.
How do I know this? Because, with all that spare time I have, I got on facebook this afternoon. And as soon as Dan found out, he skipped over, peeked at the monitor and said with a silly grin on his face: "Did you really?"
See? Deep joy.
