Sizing Up.

I recently read this list of important qualities in a mother and a father. And being something of a mercenary, decided to size myself up. And Dan too.

Here we go:

Important qualities in a father include manliness, temperance, making significant time for family, putting aside work, and being a reliable source of guidance. Well, Dan's got most of those in aces. Save for the reliable source of guidance bit. He is a source of guidance, but reliable ... hmmm. I wouldn't have to think so hard except for the time he told me Miller Lite was a good beer.

Qualities in a mother include emotional stability, selflessness, loving service and extreme patience. Oh goodness. This isn't looking good. I suppose this is why we have our entire lifetime (and then some) to get the whole holiness thing down.
