We had a marvelous time. We found a bed and breakfast that finally suits all of our delights! It is called the Hungry Point Inn, and is quite a popular b & b from what I understand, so many of you have probably heard of it. It's a Saltbox style house filled with beautiful Early American antiques. The proprietor was a friendly woman named Merriam who was a joy to talk with. And the breakfasts, of course, were delicious! We spent most of our time reading, but squeezed in a good round of skiing in the Cannon River Valley, which we enjoyed all to ourselves. I understand this is rarely the case in the summer months.
Here I am thoroughly enjoying my meal and the house, of course. It really was straight out of Tasha Tudor drawings.
And the house surrounded by forest as we approached on the gravel road.
So, here we are rested and ready for another round of newborn goodness. Ana survived Grandma and Grandpa better that we could have hoped. Luckily, she was glad to see us when we picked her up on the way home last night. And, I swear, wee Wambeke gained at least another pound.
