Sheeps.

This morning, the children and I were lured out into sub zero temperatures by the promise of getting to watch a sheep shearer and warm carmal rolls. Our good friends Dale and Lila raise sheep and invited us out to watch the shearer in action. It was a great chance to ask a lot of questions and to visit with our friends. The only thing that would've made it better is if Dan could've come too. But alas, the head of our household had to go to work. Booooo!

Here is the shearer in action. His name is Ken, and he has two apprentices. The first, he says, in 20 years. Lila says he is the best, and he certainly appears very skilled at his trade and has passion for it. That's Dale grinning next to him.

Here's Ana with a prize: a small tuft of wool!

And here's Lila and Ana. Lila was so kind and saved some fine and clean fleeces for us to take home! Now I just have to clean them and dream up some fun things to do with them.
