Goodbye to one of our Dear Shepherds.

I just heard word from Dan that Cardinal Avery Dulles, the celebrated convert, teacher, prolific author, first American theologian and US Jesuit elevated to the College of Cardinals, the dean of American theologians and a giant of the age, not to mention the dissertation director of our friend Dave Deavel, died last night at the age of 90.

Throughout his life he had done many great things to the glory of God, not the least of which was to help thousands gain a clearer understanding of God and His Ways.

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord.
