Yesterday afternoon, while Toby took a good long nap, Ana and I spent some time making herb bread and baked macaroni and cheese for dinner. When all was finished, we took a deserved break and snacked on some pistachio nuts at the kitchen table where the conversation flowed, as much as it can flow between a 30-something and a 3-something.
Since Ana was born, we have always tried to imbibe her with Jesus and how much he loves her and all that. But we've never tried going a whole lot deeper than that. I though, gosh. She is over 3, Somehow we started talking about Fr. Jeremy, and so I tried out my first real God talk.
Me: You know Ana, mommy and daddy are married to each other. Grampy and Yi are married to each other. And Maga and Papa are married to each other. Do you know who Fr. Jeremy is married to?
Ana: Who?
Me: The Church!
Ana: I'm married to Elena.
Aaaaaaand we're back to Jesus Loves Me.

That's ok. When I was Ana's age, I thought that Justin and I were going to get married. And we all know what happened with that!
I thought you guys were more like six or seven when you did that ...
No, I think we were 4.
