It's been a typical weekend round the shire.
Jenny and Russ brought their two little ones to the farm for some good times. And that is most certainly what we had! Friday night we noshed on some tasty chile while the kids got reacquainted with each other. Within an hour they were already fighting with each other, so you know, mission accomplished.
Saturday we spent the day visiting our neighbors cows, picking field corn and pretending they were corn babies (you know, like Laura Ingalls!), going for a long walk, examining pumpkins and being harassed by chickens.
Then, on Sunday morning we stuffed our faces with pancakes at the Pro-Life Breakfast in Marshall.
And the whole time I'm thinking, wouldn't it be great to have 20 kids? But then, Dan said no with a very somber look on his face. Ah yes, I remember now, one at a time Joy. I mean, what if they all did this at the same time?

There are few things in life as satisfying as watching your own delight-filled child...
Twenty kids? ........are you nuts?!?!?
I believe the number Joy *actually* used in our conversation was 6, not 20. But still, the point behind the look I gave Joy stands: take them one at a time, please. Always remaining open to God's will, yet always remaining prudent.
