At last! Dan is getting to use his evaporator this weekend. It is much more efficient than the old indoor stove is. For instance, today, he and his dad boiled down 75 gallons of sap. 75 GALLONS! Last year, we would maybe get through 20 in one day. I took a great picture of them with the evaporator this morning, but alas. Our computer is still on the fritz. Hopefully within the next week or so.
Ana, Toby and I have been enjoying this warm spell which is well earned, if I may say so. This past winter seemed more brutal than most. And we were all climbing the walls. But with 50 degree weather and kitties to play with, we have no more need to stay indoors.
It is funny what a change in seasons does to me. I feel much more motivated to start and finish projects that need tending to around the house, and projects that are just plain fun. This past week I cleaned the curtains, washed our pillows (well, some of them). Hopefully this week, I can clean the rest of our bedclothes and air them outside. Nothing is quite so wonderful as laying down on a pile of soft pillows and blankets that smell of grass and wind.

cleaning the curtains is fun?
I need to reserve a bottle for the Buffies. I was bragging to them how I helped collect the sap.
Do you make enough to sell to others....like me???
