We finally caught a break! With forecasters predicting an inch of ice over our area of the world, the mercury never dipped below 33 last night. So, instead of brittle power lines, we are enjoying rain that is slowly chipping away at all the snow that has accumulated in our ditches and over all the poor trees that we planted last year.
In other news, I have been taking full advantage of the public library, ordering in all sorts of books from outside our system. We've read Simple Food by Helen Nearing, Peter and the Wolf on CD, and next we will get to watch the fourth season of Northern Exposure. None of these items were available in Marshall, or anywhere in the Plum Creek system, so we got them from exotic far away lands like Duluth, and Scott County. Mmmm, I wonder what the air smells like in Scott County?
