I caught Dan putting this up inside our kitchen cupboard. It goes to show that his pain of losing Starbucks' extended, 7-days a week hours runs deep. On the other hand, the locally owned businesses will get a boost. At least the ones open past 4:30 will.
In other news, it seems Ana took our leaving for two days to heart. She has been refusing to sleep in her own bed for the last week and a half or so. To my delight, I might add. She never slept well in our bed, but now she sleeps like a log. And it is wonderful to have her with us all night long, although I do kind of miss me and Dan's pre-bedtime chats. We have to have those on the couch now. No big whoop. Here's our new sleeping arrangements. Note I finally got the crib situated on my side of the bed, all bungeed and pressed tight against our mattress, ready to go for Wee Wambeke. Really, our two bedrooms have turned into one bedroom and one storage room.
Having Ana with us reminds me of myself at her age. I was terrified to sleep on my own and did everything I could to tell my mom and dad so. Finally, they moved my twin into their room where I stayed for a year before I moved into another room with my aunt Pon. I was deleriously happy, and the safety and love I felt from that sacrifice of theirs has stayed with me through my adult life. I hope Ana is feeling the same way.

Our kids seem to stay longer and longer in our bed. #1 was in there until age 1, #2 stayed half nights until 3 and #3 is hunkering down for the long haul. I have to admit I miss them once they fly from the "nest". Let's enjoy them while we can! Happy slumbers!
woah! Dan is exhibiting some real fears by now. What, the little home espresso maker isn't cutting it anymore?
Oh, the little home espresso maker works just fine (and it costs like 1/10 as much to make a drink)... but it's just lacking that coffee shop experience. Know what I mean?
In checking out all the coffee shops w/in a 45-minute radius of home, I did make some nice discoveries - like one that's open until midnight (oh, glorious thing!) on Fridays and Saturdays. But the hole in my heart still aches for Sunday, the day meant by Divine Design for lounging about, but for which nothing 'round here will provide me that pleasure past 2:00...
When you go out for coffee, do you order a small mocha for Ana?
Any 24-hour coffee shops in the area for after Wee Wambeke's arrival? :)
No, and I think that stinks!
